MGM Resorts International unveiled its idea for the renovation of Empire City Yonkers racino on November 30, putting forth a daring attempt to win one of the three upcoming casino licenses in New York City. If a license is approved, the remodeled casino slot bet 100 perak resort will be known as MGM Empire City.
It goes far beyond just renaming something. It’s an attempt to transform Empire City from a location to merely watch ponies and have fun into an entertainment attraction. There will be a 5,000-seat performance hall erected, and the casino floor will be extensively renovated and enlarged. Modern convention and meeting spaces, restaurants and bars, a BetMGM sports book, and the finishing touches that only celebrity chefs can deliver are all on the design board.
VIPs in, VLTs out
The video lottery terminals that currently cover the entire casino floor of Empire City Yonkers will be removed. Table games, state-of-the-art slot machines, and high limit VIP gaming will all be in. MGM will be allowed to add a high-tech sports book to the casino with a wraparound LED screen measuring 112 feet in diameter once they receive a gaming license. The athletic experience will be enhanced by stadium seating, food and beverage service, high roller seating, and betting kiosks.
With 160,000 square feet, Empire City already has one of the largest domestic casino floors in the United States, thanks to MGM. Since it first began for business in October 2006, both players and staff have accumulated over 17 years of experience with electronic table games and VLTs. One of the best harness-racing tracks in the nation, Yonkers Raceway, adds to the gaming experience.
Once the racino transforms into a megaresort, the 125-year-old oval will continue to be open and functional.
According to MGM, the proposed performance facility will be the first of its kind in the region, offering the greatest sight lines and acoustical presentation possible. The organization wants to showcase A-list artists and events while stimulating the local economy. The intention is to unify locals and visitors while introducing fresh performers to the area.
A unique feature of the F&B offerings will be “new destination dining experiences.” These consist of an Asian noodle bar and restaurant, a casual, quick-serve Italian American restaurant, and a contemporary steakhouse. Some may be disappointed by the closure of the thailand slot Big Kitchen food court and The Pub sports bar, but other, upscale restaurants will take their place.
A new parking garage is another feature that is included in MGM’s master plan, and it will be much appreciated. In addition to offering more direct, more convenient access to the gaming floor, this will be done with the intention of greatly improving the arriving experience.
